Abstract
The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is the main structure that limits the anterior displacement of the tibia on the femur. It performs a synergistic function with other structures of the knee, in order to maintain a balance between the forces that receive this joint. The incidence of knee injuries is very high in young adults and reaches approximately 70% in sports practice where the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). It is the most frequent of these injuries and men are affected by it. However, the incidence in women is increasing each year they are 4 to 6 times more likely than men to suffer from an ACL rupture The main objective of this work is to have an anatomical, biomechanical and functional knowledge to perform a good evaluation to arrive at a good diagnosis of the compromised lesions and to be able to perform a good approach with the help of different therapeutic agents as well as the use of different Physiotherapy treatment protocols and treatment protocols in the post surgery, thus achieving recovery of the function so that it can reintegrate to its sports activities and daily life with normality. It may be concluded that anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction is recommended in patients who are professional athletes or workers who perform intense physical activity
