Abstract
La presente investigación es aplicada, de enfoque cuantitativo, nivel descriptivo y diseño no experimental de corte transversal. El objetivo general es determinar el nivel de inteligencia emocional en los estudiantes de cuarto año de secundaria de la I. E Nº 3081 Almirante Miguel Grau Seminario del distrito San Martin de Porres – Lima. La población estuvo conformada por 74 estudiantes entre varones y mujeres los que a su vez se dividían en tres secciones, para esta investigación se aplicó el inventario emocional de BarOn ICE que fue adaptado en el Perú por Nelly Ugarriza Chávez y Liz Pajares del Águila (2003) (forma completa) y consta de 60 ítems.
Por lo tanto, están divididos en seis componentes que son la intrapersonal, interpersonal, adaptabilidad, manejo del estrés, estado de ánimo general y la impresión positiva. Los resultados generales revelaron que un 42% se posicionan en el nivel bajo, mientras que el 57% se encuentra en el nivel adecuado y solo el 1% en la alta. Finalmente, existen estudiantes con niveles de inteligencia emocional en la escala media que podrían llegar a sufrir niveles bajos de inteligencia emocional
The present research is applied, with a quantitative approach, descriptive level and non - experimental cross - sectional design. The general objective is to determine the level of emotional intelligence in the students of the fourth year of high school in I. E Nº 3081 Admiral Miguel Grau Seminary of the San Martin de Porres district - Lima. The population was made up of 74 male and female students, who in turn were divided into three sections. For this research the BarOn ICE emotional inventory was applied, which was adapted in Peru by Nelly Ugarriza Chávez and Liz Pajares del Águila (2003) ) (Complete form) and consists of 60 items. Therefore, they are divided into six components which are intrapersonal, interpersonal, adaptability, stress management, general mood and positive impression. Overall results revealed that 42% are positioned at the low level, while 57% are at the appropriate level and only 1% at the high level. Finally, there are students with levels of emotional intelligence in the middle scale that could suffer low levels of emotional intelligence
