Abstract
maxilar previo consentimiento informado.
The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between the configuration of the palatal rugae and biological sex among students of the School of PNP NCO "Mariano Santos" Stone Bridge and the students of the Higher Technical School in San Bartolo PNP Women 2015.The sample was obtained from the students of the School of PNP NCO "Mariano Santos" Stone Bridge and the students of the Higher Technical School Women PNP San Bartolo in 2015; we proceeded to take an impression of the upper jaw prior informed consent. Subsequently, the 1137 study was conducted palatal rugae; which it was observed in the type of rugas present in men and women, by classifying Da Silva, to perform statistical analysis that there are significant differences (p <0.05) in undulating curves, curved and angular type; the corrugated type rugas present in greater numbers in males [136 (24%)] compared to those found in women [92 (16%)]; rugas and appreciate the type of curve, are presented in more frequently seen in women [92 (16%)] to compare with those found in males [75 (13%)]; the same behavior is seen in the sharp rugas, which are presented in greater numbers in women [28 (5%)] when compared to men [15 (3%)].Concluding on the number and shape of palatal rugae and its relationship to sexual dimorphism resulted elements are not accurate in estimating dimorphism.
