Abstract
El personal docente del colegio se encarga de educar y evaluar académicamente a sus estudiantes, informando luego a los padres de familia sobre el estado y progreso de sus hijos.
Por diversos motivos, la comunicación entre los maestros y los padres no suele ser fluida con todos. Esto trae consigo que éstos no estén informados del estado ni del progreso académico de sus hijos.
Esta tesis plantea la implementación de un software académico que mejore el control de evaluaciones de los estudiantes, permitiéndoles encontrar puntos débiles y diseñar una estrategia de corrección para el progreso de sus estudiantes. Además, que informe en tiempo real a los padres de su estado y progreso. Con esto, los padres también podrán apoyar a los maestros, por ejemplo, reforzando en casa a sus hijos en los puntos ya indicados por éstos complementando lo aprendido en el aula.
Como parte del proceso de elaboración de una solución a esta problemática, se tuvo reuniones con los potenciales usuarios del sistema: los padres, estudiantes y sobre todo con los maestros. En ellas se emplearon técnicas de obtención de información tales como entrevistas, cuestionarios y encuestas Luego de recopilar y estudiar los resultados de estas reuniones y de comprender las necesidades de la organización se diseñó la propuesta de solución, la cual basa su infraestructura en el modelo de tres capas y la arquitectura del software en la metodología XP. Para su construcción se escogió el lenguaje PHP y se selección el motor de base de datos MySQL para el almacenamiento de la información.
Se expuso la propuesta ante el personal directivo del colegio. Se explicó las ventajas en cuanto al tiempo, costo y eficiencia de la solución de software. Se obtuvo su aprobación y la solicitud de desarrollarla.
School teachers are responsible for educating and evaluating their students academically, then informing parents about the status and progress of their children. For various reasons, communication between teachers and parents is often not fluent with everyone. The status and academic progress of their children have not been reported. This thesis proposes the implementation of academic software that improves the control of students 'evaluations, allows to find deployment strategies and design a corrective strategy for students' progress. In addition, they report in real time to parents their status and progress. With this, parents can also support teachers, for example, reinforcing at home their children at the points already indicated by the latter complement what has been learned in the classroom. As part of the process of developing a solution to this problem, have been held with potential users of this system: parents, students and especially with teachers. They used information gathering techniques such as interviews, questionnaires and surveys. After compiling and studying the results of these meetings and understanding the needs of the organization, the solution proposal was designed, which bases its infrastructure on the three-layer model and the software architecture in the XP methodology. For its construction the PHP language was chosen and the MySQL database engine is selected for the storage of the information. The proposal was presented to the personal director of the school. The advantages were explained in terms of time, cost and efficiency of the software solution. They obtained their approval and the request for development
