Abstract
La osteartrosis OA, es una de las más comunes enfermedades articulares. Es una enfermedad que se caracteriza por dolor mecánico y con frecuencia se asocia a rigidez y conduce progresivamente a una pérdida o disminución de la fuerza articular, afecta principalmente a las articulaciones de la rodilla, cadera y mano. Su prevalencia es más alta en la población de la quinta década de vida, y tiene un índice mayor en mujeres que hombres.
Se realizó una investigación de los diferentes campos de esta enfermedad tratando de describir cual es el mejor tratamiento.
Dando dos tipos de tratamiento el farmacológico y el no farmacológico o conservador, utilizando para medir los resultados el cuestionario de valoración funcional Western Ontario McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC).
Dando como conclusión que se necesita emplear los dos tratamientos, dando un buen resultado en el paciente, su calidad de vida y entorno social.
