Abstract
Congenital muscle torticollis is one of the most common malformations in childhood, and is described as the alteration that the sternocleidomastoid muscle undergoes when presenting a mass of fibrous tissue in its fibers. The congenital muscular torticollis presents a shortening of the sternocleidomastoid muscle added to a decrease in the articular range of movement, which brings with it anatomical, postural alterations and the child's normal psychomotor development, causing serious deformities if not treated in time.
