Abstract
La investigación realizada se fundamentó en la compresión lectora y el
rendimiento académico, si bien son variables distintas pero hay un vínculo entre
ambas. El primer término involucra la capacidad de entender e interpretar
textos o conceptos y la segunda variable trata sobre grado de conocimiento
alcanzado. El conocimiento de ambos términos fue de vital importancia para el
desarrollo de la presente tesis.
El objeto principal del estudio, fue corroborar si la comprensión lectora,
influye en el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes del I y II ciclo en las
carreras profesionales de Enfermería, Fisioterapia y Farmacia – Instituto
Superior Daniel Alcides Carrión – Lima. La investigación realizada se caracteriza
por ser explicativa y aplicativa, además el diseño utilizado fue expos facto o
retrospectivo; la población estudiada lo conformo el Instituto Superior Daniel
Alcides Carrión – Lima y la muestra estuvo constituida por 52 estudiantes de
las carreras profesionales de Enfermería, Fisioterapia y Farmacia; y un
muestreo con probabilidad del 95% de confianza y 5% en margen de error.
Para la recolección y medición de la información de acuerdo a las variables
de estudio se utilizó como herramienta una encuesta, que fue aplicada a
Doctores en Educación, quienes desde su nivel crítico brindaron aportes para
comprobar el objetivo de la investigación.
Dentro de los resultados esperados, se logró encontrar que en efecto, la
comprensión lectora, influye significativamente en el rendimiento académico de
los estudiantes del I y II ciclo en las carreras profesionales evaluadas.
The research carried out was based on reading comprehension and academic performance, although they are different variables but there is a link between both. The first term involves the ability to understand and interpret texts or concepts and the second variable deals with the degree of knowledge reached. The knowledge of both terms was of vital importance for the development of the present thesis. The main objective of the study was to corroborate if the reading comprehension influences the academic performance of the students of the I and II cycle in the professional careers of nursing, physiotherapy and pharmacy - Instituto Daniel Alcides Carrión - Lima. The research carried out is characterized by being explanatory and applicative, in addition the design used was expository or retrospective; the study population was conformed by the Daniel Alcides Carrión - Lima Superior Institute and the sample consisted of 52 students from the professional careers of Nursing, Physiotherapy and Pharmacy; and a sampling with probability of 95% confidence and 5% error margin. For the collection and measurement of the information according to the study variables, a survey was used as a tool, which was applied to Doctors in Education, who from their critical level provided contributions to verify the objectivity of the research. Within the expected results, it was found that, in effect, reading comprehension significantly influences the academic performance of the students of the I and II cycle in the evaluated professional careers.
