Manejo odontológico del paciente con alteraciones neuro-psiquiátricas

Abstract

La enfermedades neuropsiquiátricas, no solo comprenden aquellas alteraciones a nivel neurológico o cognitivo, sino también aquellas enfermedades que mezclan ambos campos, lo cual comienza a ser más común debido a la mayor supervivencia de pacientes que son afectados por estas patologías en diferentes etapas de vida, por lo cual muchas veces el cirujano dentista se verá en la necesidad de atender estos pacientes, el objetivo de este trabajo será documentar el concepto, manejo médico, repercusión y manejo estomatológico personalizado de las enfermedades neuropsiquiátricas más frecuentes.Neuropsychiatric diseases not only include those alterations at neurological or cognitive level, but also those diseases that mix both fields, which begins to be more common due to the greater survival of patients who are affected by these pathologies in different stages of life, so many times the dental surgeon will be in need of attending these patients, the objective of this work will be to document the concept, medical management, repercussion and personalized stomatological management of the most frequent neuropsychiatric diseases.
