El dolor de espalda en niños y adolescentes se manifestará por múltiples causas; sin embargo, la patología biomecánica más controversial y con mayor prevalencia entre los rangos de la etapa infantil viene a ser la enfermedad o cifosis de Scheuermann. Se define como una enfermedad por su proceso histopatológico y su deformación o alteración que se presenta en la columna vertebral. En los hallazgos clínicos presenta dos tipos: la estructurada, por la osteocondrosis vertebral y la postural, por su factor biomecánico
