Abstract
Dentro de los compuestos fenólicos, podemos distinguir varios grupos dentro de ellas, los flavonoides, se subdividen principalmente en flavonas, flavononas, isoflavonas, flavonoles, antocianinas y chalconas. Son metabolitos de gran importancia en plantas de uso medicinal, debido a su actividad biológica como antioxidantes, antiinflamatorias, cicatrizantes entre otros. La capacidad antioxidante de estas sustancias, tienen una relación muy estrecha con aspectos de la salud humana, especialmente con enfermedades cardiovasculares. Mediante medicina tradicional se viene utilizando durante varios años en las regiones amazónicas del Perú la planta silvestre de Genipa americana (jagua).
Within the phenolic compounds, we can distinguish several groups within them, the flavonoids, are subdivided mainly into flavones, flavonones, isoflavones, flavonols, anthocyanins and chalcones. They are metabolites of great importance in medicinal plants, due to their biological activity as antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, healing among others. The antioxidant capacity of these substances have a very close relationship with aspects of human health, especially with cardiovascular diseases. Traditional medicine has been used for several years in the Amazonian regions of Peru the wild plant of Genipa americana (jagua).
