Abstract
Recent studies show that about 8% of sports injuries are from the Achilles tendon. They are the third most common rupture after the rotator cuff and tendinous ruptures of the quadriceps muscle. The objectives that we have marked in this work are the following: to acquire more knowledge about the rupture of the Achilles tendon and on the other hand, to propose a physiotherapeutic treatment for this lesion. Achilles tendon rupture is easily diagnosed by specific physiotherapeutic tests and more when it is a complete rupture, although in case of doubt one could make use of the diagnostic tests by the image (magnetic resonance and ultrasound). The initial utility of the clinical assessment (anamnesis and physical examination) must be taken into account in order to carry out a correct post-operative therapeutic approach. This will seek the purpose of a therapeutic treatment such as achieving the development of functional capabilities of the patient and reduce the risk of re-rupture
