Estética dental en CAD/CAM

Abstract

La estética dental a través del CAD/CAM es un tema de suma relevancia en la Odontología actual, son los pacientes, los que en su búsqueda por la belleza, simplicidad, y opciones de tratamiento, nos motivan a poner en práctica nuestros conocimientos teóricos y clínicos sobre estética, y aplicarlos en nuevas tecnologías como lo es el CAD/CAM. El objetivo de la presente investigación, es realizar una revisión de la literatura para describir la relación entre la estética dental y el CAD/CAM, para esto, en la primera parte, se desarrollará la historia y evolución de la estética a través del tiempo, así como los principios de la estética dentofacial; es decir, línea de los labios, arco de la sonrisa, curvatura superior del labio, espacio negativo lateral, simetría de la sonrisa, plano oclusal frontal, componentes dentales y gingivales, línea media, puntos de contacto, visagismo, proporción aurea, proporción dentaria individual y la percepción del paciente y del profesional hacia la estética. En la segunda parte, se desarrollará la historia y evolución del CAD/CAM, así como los sistemas que existen, como CEREC, PROCERA, E4 Dentist, 3M True definition, CS3500, Lythos, Trios, entre otros; también se describirá la secuencia de trabajo en CAD/CAM: escaneo de modelos, digitalización, diseño en CAD, diseño en CAM; para luego en la tercera parte de la presente investigación, unir ambas estructuras y desarrollar tratamientos estéticos mediante la utilización del CAD/CAM, como carillas, onlays, diseño de sonrisa digital 3D entre otros.
