El síndrome de Guillain-Barré es la principal polineuropatía desmielinizante, sin embargo, se trata de una enfermedad que apenas se conoce a nivel popular, a pesar de afectar a un importante número de personas por todo el mundo. Desde un punto de vista científico constituye un reto para los investigadores, ya que aún se desconocen muchos aspectos de ella, siendo la investigación en fisioterapia una de las principales esperanzas para la consecución de la completa rehabilitación sin secuelas de estos pacientes
