Abstract

The type of investigation was crosssectional descriptive correlational. The study population consisted of all resident physicians working within the Institution. The sample was 60 residents. The instrument used for the measurement of the variables was validated by expert judges for this purpose, the evaluation was carried out by 5 specialists in Pediatric Dentistry, in addition a pilot was made for the statistical validation of the data collection instrument with calculation of the chrombach's alpha. The statistical test was The correlation of Pearson and the margin of error used was 0.05. The conclusion reached by the thesis was that there is a relationship between knowledge and the indifferent attitude of the resident physicians of the National Institute of Child Health on early childhood caries, also a level of regular knowledge about etiology and prevention, poor systemic impact and an indifferent attitude in the 3 host factors, microorganism and substrate on early childhood caries.
