Abstract
parasiplosis, Candida torulopsis, Cándida guillermondii, Candida tropicalis, Candida
catenulata, Candida glabrata.
In this study, we sought to determine the relationship between the use of removable dentures and the presence of Candida spp in patients treated at the Stomatological Clinic of the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University. The general objective of the research work was to establish the relationship between the use of removable dentures and the presence of Candida spp., Identifying the species present in the maxillary ridge of the patients. The design of the study was descriptive, of applied level, quasi-experimental crosssectional method. The data collection was carried out with intentional non-probabilistic sampling, with the technique of structured observational interviewing. The questionnaire attached to the Total Prosthesis Card of the Clinical History of the Faculty of Stomatology of the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University was used as an instrument for measuring variables. Samples were taken with the sample collection technique with swab placing them in a test tube with sterile medium, then proceeded to perform the seeding in Sabouraud agar culture. Finding the presence of different candida spp., Such as Candida parasiplosis, Candida torulopsis, Candida guillermondii, Candida tropicalis, Candida catenulata, Candida glabrata. It was verified that the degree of adaptation of the prosthesis, the time of use of the prosthesis, as well as the degree of stomatitis are related to the presence of Candida spp. However, the variable type of flange does not necessarily relate to the presence of Candida spp. Finally, it was concluded that there is no relationship between the use of removable dentures and the presence of Candida spp in the patients who were treated at the Stomatological Clinic of the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University.
