Abstract
A correct impression is an exact negative replica of the prepared teeth and their adjacent areas important step to obtain the model and the making of the dental prosthesis. In the present work the variety of printing materials that currently have different characteristics and uses as well as some disadvantages will be mentioned. Either the material to use the definitive impression can be rigid or elastic. The state of the gingival tissue must be taken into consideration before a printing, it must be healthy, free of inflammation, bleeding or bacterial plaque that makes the procedure difficult. Different types of printing techniques are shown according to the treatment indicated in either fixed prosthesis (technique without retractor and thread), removable partial denture (Physiological - functional and selective pressure impressions), total prosthesis and implantology. Knowledge about disinfection of prints according to each type of material must be taken into account and the errors that must be taken into account for better care in order to achieve the quality and success of dental denture printing.
