Abstract
Neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT) is aimed at resolving motor problems. Objective: To determine functional changes in daily activities in patients with medular lesions receiving NDT. Methods: Pre-experimental study design with pre and post-test evaluations covering the period of 2009-2011. The Barthel index was used to measure level of independence before and after NDT. Results: A total of 32 patients were evaluated; the difference in the Barthel index pre and post-test was 45.63% (p < 0.01). The greates changes were observed in using stairs (up and down) and going to bathroom, a lesser effect was observed in feeding and cleaning. Conclusions: Significant improvement in daily activities was observed in patients with medual lesion receiving NDT.
